Trull tennis club is a mile from the centre of Taunton, south along the Trull Road, behind The Crown Inn and Bowerman’s Garage (look for the sign).

We play all the year round, though the season runs from April 1st. Normal club play is Saturday afternoons, Monday and Wednesday evenings from 6pm. Coaching is offered after 8pm Wednesdays. Many people play in the daytime with arranged groups.
To cater for all abilities and needs the club offers several categories of membership from A players, who play in our successful teams – to B category (that includes beginners/ improvers) who can take advantage of expert coaching on Wednesday evenings.

If you want to see what the club is like, just come along. You can play for five sessions without committing yourself, for a modest fee of £2 each time, repayable if you join.

2007 round-up from David Hill, Club Captain

Trull mixed C team – Pete Rowe captained the side which play in the 3rd division, a lot of players get the chance to play in the team, however the lack of ladies defeated us as we had to concede the last match relegating the team to the 4th division.

Trull mixed B team – Gwyn Flitters did another great job looking after the team, again giving opportunity to many players to play in the team. The team held their own in division 2.

Trull mixed A team – As possible my last season as captain I thought I was in for a long season losing the opening 4 games, but a change in fortune (and some good play) we finished off winning the remaining 8 games, finishing 2nd in division 1.

As with all our mixed teams we do have a shortage of ladies, so if there are any ladies out there wanting to join the club and play matches please get in touch!!

Trull mens C – John Barrington has run the side since we entered the side 3 years ago, it has given many juniors the experience of playing in the senior league of which some have gone on to play in both the B & A side. They are in division 4 of the yeovil tennis league.

Trull mens B – Chris Pleeth looks after this team, and with lots of interest to play in this team has a tough job getting the right balance, This was the 1st year as well that the team were playing in division 1, and with some great effort from all the 15 different men involved in playing they managed 3rd place beating many of the teams who have been in division 1 for many years, congatulations!

Trull mens A – The A side is the dominant force in the league at the moment, and this year was no different winning the league for the 4th time and securing the ko cup as well fending off a strong challenge from a Sherborne side.

Thank you to all who played last year and played their socks off!
As always we welcome new members whether its social or the competitive players… come along and try us out.

Thanks Dave Hill
