Trull tennis club is a mile from the centre of Taunton, south along the Trull Road, behind The Crown Inn and Bowerman’s Garage (look for the sign).

We play all the year round, though the season runs from April 1st. Normal club play is Saturday afternoons, Monday and Wednesday evenings from 6pm. Coaching is offered after 8pm Wednesdays. Many people play in the daytime with arranged groups.
To cater for all abilities and needs the club offers several categories of membership from A players, who play in our successful teams – to B category (that includes beginners/ improvers) who can take advantage of expert coaching on Wednesday evenings.

If you want to see what the club is like, just come along. You can play for five sessions without committing yourself, for a modest fee of £2 each time, repayable if you join.

Finals Day

Mens Final 2009

L - R: Richard Lamb, Ivan Stubbs, David Hill, Steve Pantling

Trull tennis club held their annual club closed tournament finals on Tuesday evening. In the Men’s singles final David Hill played Ivan Stubbs. Ivan took the first set but David fought back to win the second. He served for the match twice in the 3rd set but failed to capitalise on his early lead and eventually lost 7-5 in the 3rd in what was an exciting and epic battle lasting over 2 hours.

David then teamed up with Steve Pantling and Ivan teamed up with Richard Lamb in the Mens doubles final – both clearly tired from the singles battle. However in a good match Messrs Hill and Pantling eventually won through after dropping the first – 2-6, 6-1, 6-4.

Ladies Finals 2009

L-R: Natalie Lawrence, Ann Bazley, Gwyn Flitters, Sally Phillips

In the ladies singles final Natalie Lawrence defeated Gwyn Flitters 7-5, 6-3. Natalie and her partner Ann Bazley also won the ladies doubles title taking the first set comfortably 6-2 but Gwyn and her partner Sally Phillips fought back with some long and consistent rallying in the 2nd but just lost it 7-5. The evening was well supported with a large crowd of players from the club.
